Let me introduce myself—I’m Nicole Pair, the owner and lead planner of Elegant Pairings. I’m a proud Gulf Coast transplant from Washington D.C., where I worked in the (let’s face it) much-less-exciting world of corporate events. Weddings? Way more fun, hands down!

So, how did this all begin? Well, like many great stories, it started with a friend who insisted she had the perfect guy for me. The catch? He was out of the country for three months, but that didn’t stop her from giving him my number. Sure enough, Steven texted me that very afternoon, and we haven’t stopped talking since. It was whirlwind romance at its finest, and—cue the cheesiness—when you know, you know. Within a month, we were off to Paris together.

I knew on that trip he was the one. Case in point: I overpacked (big time) and we missed our non-refundable train. Instead of freaking out, Steven turned the whole ordeal into a first-class adventure—literally! That’s how I knew he was my forever—when things don’t go as planned, we always make the best of it.

Fast forward, and I moved to the Gulf Coast for love. We got married a year after meeting, and I’ve now been a Florida girl for five years. Creating Elegant Pairings in 2019 was my way of carving out my own space in this laid-back, sun-kissed part of the world. Coming from the hustle and bustle of city life to a relaxed beach town was definitely an adjustment, but it’s been worth every second.

Since then, I’ve had the absolute joy of planning over 100 weddings along the Gulf Coast! My focus is simple: creating a warm, comfortable experience for every couple while designing a day that’s true to their love story. Planning a wedding comes with plenty of surprises—just remember, when life throws you a curveball, upgrade it to first class and enjoy the ride!
