the one about the wedding planner

Welcome to our newest adventure where we take you behind the scenes, show you all of our favorite tips and tricks, and just highlight different components of the wedding industry! We are so excited you’re here and can’t wait to take you on this weekly journey with us. 

First, some introductions are order. I’m Nicole Pair and I’m the owner and lead wedding planner behind Elegant Pairings. I am a Gulf Coast transplant from the Washington D.C. area, where I was in the boring world of corporate events [sorry, not sorry, they’re just not as fun as weddings!]. 

So, how did this all begin? That’s a good question! It all started with a friend and coworker that came up to me one day and said “I have the perfect person for you.” It came with a few catches like that he was currently out of the country and wouldn’t be back for 3 months. Before I could even say anything she told me she had already reached out and he’d be texting me that afternoon. Well, Steven did just that and we haven’t missed a day of talking since. It was a whirlwind and not to be cheesy, but when you know, you know and within a month of knowing each other we were jetting off to Paris.

I knew on that trip that we were going to be together forever. I might have packed WAY too much luggage and had a hard time getting ready one morning. We completely missed our non-refundable train time and instead of getting upset he went and upgraded us to first class [mainly for luggage storage! lol] for the next ride out of there. How you handle a situation life throws at you is everything — instead of getting upset he made a bad situation into a fun experience!

If it isn’t obvious yet, I moved down to the Gulf Coast to follow a boy! We were married a year after we met and I’ve officially been a Florida girl for 5 years. Part of moving down here was making a niche for myself in the Florida market– one that helped me adjust to the more laid back lifestyle. Having lived in cities for years prior to moving to a “quiet” beach town, I was in for quite a shock. 

I created Elegant Pairings in 2019 and have had the opportunity to plan well over 100 weddings along the Gulf Coast [we have a little experience!]. My focus is on creating a comfortable environment for all couples to plan their dream wedding! I have always tried to emphasize personal service with purposeful design that highlights each of my couples love story. Weddings and wedding planning can throw all sorts of surprises your way. All you have to remember is to take every situation, upgrade it to first class, and make everything a little more fun and spontaneous!
